A child is dead after a lawnmower accident in Highland County over the weekend.
Two-year-old Isiah Auker was run over just after 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the
14200 block of Barrett Mill Road in Hillsboro.
Police say Melvin Auker, the father of the child, was mowing the lawn and failed to see his son when he put the mower in reverse.
Officials say a medical helicopter was requested to transport the 2-year-old, but the flight was canceled.
Police say the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
