DRY RIDGE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle head-on collision on KY 36, approximately one mile east of U.S. 25 on Tuesday, resulting in four injured and one dead.
At approximately 8 p.m., Darlene Skinner, 50, of Berry, Ky., was driving a ’97 Ford Escort, and Troy Beckelhimer, 38, also of Berry, was operating an ’07 Chevy Cobalt.
The vehicles collided head-on, injuring five people.
Skinner and her passenger, Gary Skinner, 52, also of Berry, were transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital with serious injuries.
Beckelhimer and two juvenile passengers were transported by EMS to St. Elizabeth Grant County with non-life threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, Gary was pronounced deceased at the UC Hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor at this time.
Police confirm that Gary was wearing a seatbelt, while the driver Darlene was not. All occupants of the Cobalt were fastened in with either a belt or child safety seat.
Williamstown Fire, Dry Ridge Fire, Trans-care EMS, PHI, Williamstown Police and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
