MT. ORAB, Ohio -- An officer at the Mount Orab police station in Brown County has been shot.
Around 4 a.m. Sunday morning Officer Justin Conley went outside the police station to get something from his cruiser. That is when Officer Conley was ambushed from behind and shot in the back.
A second officer working inside the station heard the gunfire. Officer Chris Hodges came to the aid of the Officer Conley and exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

Police say that the shooter was arrested earlier in the night for a DUI. After his release, he returned with the gun.
The officer who was shot was the same officer who had arrested him on the DUI charge.
The Mount Orab Police Station is located at 211 South High Street.
