NEWPORT, Ky. -- Newport police have recovered $11,000 in stolen goods at an apartment.

The items have now been turned over to the Campbell County Police Department for processing.

On Sunday afternoon, Newport officers received a tip that led them to an apartment on Elm Street.

Officers recovered numerous items including big screen televisions, power tools, a bicycle, and a lawnmower.

Investigators say the items were stolen from storage units in Campbell County.

"We have approximately 100 storage units broken into just within Campbell County and we know there's got to be more stuff out there and its just a matter of time before we can find it," said Det. Ryan Markus with the Campbell County Police Department.

There were 40 units broken into at Secured Self Storage on Dodsworth Lane in Cold Spring in November and 50 units at Key Storage in Wilder.

Covington police are also reviewing the items after a series of burglaries in Latonia.

Police are now going through the property and plan to contact the victims.
