Last Update: 10/07 6:45 pm
PENDLETON CO., Ky. -- Pendleton County Superintendent Bob Yost says a pregnant student who was on a school bus that crashed in Falmouth on Tuesday has delivered her baby at the hospital.

Yost tells 9News the mother and her newborn baby are doing well. They are expected to recover at University Hospital for several more days.

A relative of the teen tells 9News she delivered a healthy baby boy.

Yost says another student is also recovering at University Hospital.

Ten other children who were transported by ambulances to other Northern Kentucky Hospitals have been treated and released.

Investigators say just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a Pendleton County school bus collided with a large pick-up truck pulling a trailer carrying aluminum on US 27 near Robbins Avenue.

School officials say one elementary school student, one middle school student and 27 high school students were on the bus.

Ten were taken to local hospitals with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say at this time no charges are expected to be filed against either driver.

The accident remains under investigation.
This marks the second school bus crash in less than two years for Pendleton County Schools.

"Its dangerous but you don't get expect this so quickly so fast in a short period of time," said Carol Delaney, a parent.

Last year, student Daniel Wood was killed when a school bus crashed on KY 22.

Wednesday's crash brought back painful memories for some.

"I loved Daniel. He was great kid. Its awful what happened," said Jessica Gentry, a senior.
