FLORENCE, Ky. – The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an afternoon robbery near Florence on Monday.
At approximately 2 p.m. the United Dairy Farmers store located at 8577 Dixie Hwy., was robbed by a man brandishing a handgun, getting away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robber is described as a white man, between 5'8" and 6'0" tall, wearing a grey hoodie and a black mask. Rebecca Trosper, a customer in the store, was knocked down by the robber. Trosper was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence for a possible back injury.
The get-away car, a white ’86 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by an accomplice was stolen from Christian Drive in Florence, and found burning in the rear drive to Chap's Lake off of Weaver Road near Dixie Highway. The owner was unaware the car had been stolen.
