VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - The Georgia State Patrol says a highway dispute could have led to a fiery three-vehicle collision that killed four Kentucky residents on Interstate 75.
Patrol Sgt. Carl Taylor said the driver of a black Honda was reporting to Lowndes County 911 that a silver Saturn was attempting to block him when both vehicles were struck by a rental truck about 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Taylor says the cars were nearly stopped in the middle and right southbound lanes when the rental truck struck them.
Taylor said 40-year-old Jerome Roberts, 41-year-old Cheryl Collins, 20-year-old Mahronda Collins and and 11-year-old August Roberts, all of Midway, Ky., were killed.
Occupants of the truck and other car escaped serious injury.
