The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announces a bridge maintenance project is about to begin on the KY 3025 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad in Grant County.
The project, set to start next Monday, will encompass several maintenance improvements. The bridge deck will be restored and waterproofed and the bridge joints will be repaired.
"These repairs and improvements will provide a smoother ride for the many vehicles traveling across this bridge on a daily basis," said Rob Hans, executive director for KYTC District 6. "This is just one example of the Cabinet’s commitment to improving safety and mobility on our highways and bridges."
M & M Services Co., Inc of Mt Sterling, Kentucky was awarded the low bid contract for $162,636.24.
The contractor plans to begin work on July 6. KY 3025 (Helton Road) will be closed at U.S. 25 in Williamstown and at Cherry Hill Lane.
KY 3025 will be closed to through traffic at Barnes Road but local traffic to homes and businesses within the closure will be allowed.
Trucks must use Baton Rouge Road (U.S. 25X) bridge to cross the railroad during this time.
The project will take approximately two weeks with the anticipated competition date being July 14, weather permitting.
