LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – The president of Churchill Downs says he will push again for more gambling at horse tracks in Kentucky.
Bob Evans made the statement Thursday in a conference call with investors and analysts.
Churchill Downs supported a measure earlier this year that would have amended Kentucky's constitution to allow casinos at racetracks and other locations. That measure died in the General Assembly.
Evans said passage of a referendum to allow slot machines at Maryland horse tracks leaves Kentucky as the only state that hosts a Triple Crown race not to allow slot machines at its tracks.
