COVINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 would like the public to be aware of the following conditions and/or operations that are being reported for highways in District Six.
Motorists should be aware of possible delays or lane closures on the following projects:
BOONE, KENTON, CAMPBELL COUNTIES-
- I-75 (MP 166 – MP 180) – Lane restrictions may be in place for pavement repairs from Wednesday-Thursday, from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Expect minor delays. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
BOONE COUNTY-
- KY 842 (Houston Road) from KY 18 (MP 4.8) to Turfway Road (MP 6.1) – Lane restrictions may be in place through Thursday, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Expect minor delays. Watch for flaggers and watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
CAMPBELL COUNTY-
- I-275 Licking River and Ohio River Bridges – Beginning Tuesday watch for alternating shoulder and single lane closures on I-275 over the Licking and Ohio Rivers. Expect minor delays. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
Licking Pike (KY 9) from MP 17.5 – MP 18 at I-275 Interchange (Exit 77) – Watch for shoulder closures on KY 9. During off-peak periods (6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), lane restrictions may be in place. Expect minor delays. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway. Be aware that height restrictions may be posted.
I-275 (MP 74.2) at Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) Overpass – Watch for shoulder closures on I-275. During off-peak periods, traffic may be slowed for short periods by police officers. Expect minor delays. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through this area. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
I-275 (MP 76.4) at Johns Hill Road (KY 2345) Overpass – Watch for shoulder closures on I-275. During off-peak periods, traffic may be slowed for short periods by police officers. Expect minor delays. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through this area. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
I-471 (MP 0) at I-275 (MP 75) Interchange – Watch for shoulder closures on I-471 and I-275 at the I-471/I-275 Interchange. Nightly, lane closures may be in place on I-471 and I-275 at the I-471/I-275 Interchange from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. During off-peak periods, traffic may be slowed for short periods by police officers. Expect minor delays. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through this area. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the highway.
KY 2238 Three Mile Creek Road – Three Mile Creek Road (KY 2238) is closed between Johns Hill Road (KY 2345) and Gibson Lane. The road will be closed until the project is completed. A detour is marked, utilizing Johns Hill Road (KY 2345). Watch for construction traffic and trucks entering and leaving the roadway.
CARROLL COUNTY-
- I-71 south and northbound at mile point 39.5 (Mill Creek Road bridges) Traffic is reduced to one lane in both directions for bridge deck repairs. There is a wide load restriction in effect only for northbound traffic – loads wider than 11 feet must exit at #34. The lane closures will be in place until further notice.
GALLATIN COUNTY-
- KY 465 OVER I-71 – The KY 465 overpass will remain closed, Monday through Friday, open on the weekends, for bridge deck repairs. There will be a signed detour. Watch for traffic control devices and construction traffic entering and the leaving the roadway.
GRANT COUNTY-
- KY 36 – will have restricted traffic beginning the middle of next week due to slide correction being done at approximately mile point 8.2 which is between KY 1995 and KY 22. Traffic will be flagged through the work zone but delays can be expected. All traffic will be halted for short periods of time throughout the day. The crews will be work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the project is expected to be completed by Monday.
KENTON COUNTY-
- KY 536 Harris Pike – Road work will start on KY 536 beginning Monday. Construction activities will take place between KY 16 and KY 17. Watch for traffic control devices and construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway.
OWEN COUNTY-
- KY 22 - Gratz Bridge (approximately at the mile point 6) – The Gratz Bridge replacement project has begun. Clearing and grubbing is the only operation taking place this week. Blasting may begin next week with hauling blasted material beginning soon after. Traffic is allowed during daylight hours but is not allowed from 6:30-8:30 a.m. and from 3-5:30 p.m. There will be some one way traffic during these operations.
