Delays Possible On N.Ky. Roadways

COVINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 Superintendent Dave Bauman announces the following maintenance activities in Campbell and Kenton counties for the week Oct. 5-9:


CAMPBELL COUNTY—
Monday, Oct. 5
Crews will complete the installation of culvert pipes on KY 10 (Pond Creek Road) from Daniels to Wesley Chapel. Motorists should watch for flaggers and equipment.

Tuesday, Oct. 6 – Wednesday, Oct. 7
Weather permitting, crews will be installing culvert pipes on KY 1936 (Pond Creek Road) from Visalia to Wolfe Road.  Road will be closed to thru traffic during project. 

Thursday, Oct. 8
Crews will be setting up traffic control for a bridge inspection of the Combs Hehl Bridge.  The SB left-hand lane will be closed from 9:30 am to 3 pm. 

Friday, Oct. 9
Crews will be setting up traffic control for a bridge inspection of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge.  The WB left-hand lane will be closed from 10 am to noon. 


KENTON COUNTY—
Monday, Oct. 5
Crews will be ditching with equipment on KY 177 (Decoursey Pike) near the area of Ishmael Road and Kenton Station Road (5-6 mile marker).  Watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures. 

Tuesday, Oct. 6
Crews will be conducting traffic control for Brent Spence Bridge inspections.  The NB slow lane of the Brent Spence Bridge will be closed from 10am to noon. 

Wednesday, Oct. 7
Crews will be repairing a slip on KY 14 (Rich Road) near the area of Parkers Grove Road (2-3 mile marker).  Watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures. 

Thursday, Oct. 8
Crews will be patching and repairing potholes on KY 17 (Rich Road) near the area of the Bridge over Fowler Creek and Old KY 17 (14-15 mile marker).  Watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures. 

Friday, Oct. 9
Crews will be repairing a cross drain on KY 1930 (Locust Pike) in between the area of Locust Pike and the CSX Railroad Crossing (1-2 mile marker).  Watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures. 


If you have a pothole to report on a state route, you can call Campbell County Maintenance at (859) 635-9240 or you can call a toll free direct line to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to report potholes or other problems on all state maintained highways.  The number is (800) PATCH IT or (800) 728-2448.

Maintenance activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

Motorists are urged to use caution in work areas, and to be alert for flaggers workers equipment which may block a portion of the roadway, and other items of concern in work zone speed limits where applicable.
