Instead of increasing for the upcoming July 4 holiday, gas prices are falling 26 cents in Cincinnati since peaking on June 8, but the decrease is still 14 cents highs than Memorial Day gas prices.

The current gas price average in Cincinnati is $2.57 a gallon for unleaded gasoline. However, gas prices will likely rise over the next few days as residents drive to out of town holiday destination or to nearby destinations.

AAA expects higher gas prices and economic concerns to keep more travelers closer to home this year. Approximately 37.1 million Americans will drive or fly 50 miles or more this holiday weekend, which is down 1.9 percent as compared to last year.

In Ohio, 1.2 million residents are set to travel for the upcoming holiday.
