LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Ousted Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie says he has no hard feelings toward Kentucky after the university fired him on Friday.

Gillispie said at a news conference Saturday that his one regret during his turbulent two years was not winning enough games.

The Wildcats went 40-27 under Gillispie and missed the NCAA tournament for the first time in 18 years this season while going 22-14.

University officials said Gillispie wasn't the right fit and the school doesn't plan on paying him a $6 million buyout because he never signed a contract. Gillispie says he felt he did everything necessary to get the program back on track and expects to receive all $6 million.
