Gas prices are inching up this Thanksgiving as 33.2 million Americans and 1.3 million Ohioans hit the road to visit family and friends.
Current Cincinnati gas prices are $2.60 a gallon, up 14 cents from one week ago, but down 6 cents from one month ago.
As millions prepare to travel by car to family and friends near and far, the recent jump in gas prices puts added pressure on consumers’ wallets and budgets.
AAA recommends the following tips to help drivers save money on the road:
Prepare for the unexpected. Make sure cell phones are charged and emergency supplies, such as jumper cables, flashlights, flares, first aid kits and warm clothes, are packed in vehicles. Drivers should also know how to reach help if they experience car trouble on the road. AAA members in need of roadside assistance can reach AAA by calling (800) AAA-HELP or visiting AAA.com/roadsideassistance. iPhone users can download the AAA Roadside app for free and request roadside service with a touch of a button.
