COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A judge in Northern Kentucky has sentenced a man to 30 years in prison on his conviction in a baby's death.

Aaron Pryor Allen was convicted Nov. 5 of shaking 3-month-old Robert Bradley Ross Jr., who died.

Prosecutors said Allen became enraged because the baby's cries interrupted him.

The jury convicted the 25-year-old Allen of wanton murder in the July 2008 death of the baby, who was the son of Allen's girlfriend.

Kenton Circuit Judge Patricia Summe followed the jury recommendation in imposing the sentence, rejecting a defense motion for 25 years and saying she doubted the sincerity of Allen's statements on the stand during his trial.
