Man Rushed To Hospital After Van Rolls

A Williamstown, Ky., man was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after his Pepsi van rolled over on Interstate 71.

On Thursday, at about 11:05 a.m. a single vehicle, rollover accident on northbound I-71 near the Verona, Ky., exit  sent Frederick Rudy to the hospital via Air Care.

According to police, Rudy, 51, was driving a Pepsi Cola owned van north on I-71 when he left the highway, went over an embankment, and rolled it.  Rudy, the only occupant who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio via Air Care.

The northbound lanes were shut down for approximately 30 minutes while being used as a landing zone for Air Care.

The accident is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
