MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) – A western Kentucky woman has been arrested after police say she fired five shots at her husband in a home improvement store.
Mayfield Police Detective Sgt. Bryan Morrison told The Paducah Sun that 40-year-old Ann Marie Smith of Mayfield was arrested near the front of the Lowe's store on Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m. CST.
Morrison says only one of five shots struck her husband, Mark E. Smith, leaving a pinhead sized wound to the palm of one hand.
Acting Police Chief Larry Alexander says a fight earlier in the day appears to have sparked the shooting.
Police charged Ann Marie Smith with attempted murder and five counts of wanton endangerment. She remained in the Graves County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $500,000 bond.
