N.Ky. Company Making Pete Rose Documentary

Last Update: 1/26 3:25 pm
COVINGTON, Ky. -- When you think of Pete Rose, do you think of his baseball achievements or what got him banned from the game for life?

Barking Fish Entertainment in Covington wants to refocus the public's attention on what a great baseball player Rose was.

It's producing a film called "4,192: The Crowning of the Hit King".  The official announcement is being made Tuesday at the Sundance Film Festival.

Rose was banned from baseball in 1989 for gambling and the filmmakers believe there are generations of people who don't know enough about his work ethic and historic achievements as a player.

Rose is being interviewed as part of the project as well as longtime Reds Hall of Fame radio announcer Marty Brennaman.

The company is trying to arrange a limited theatrical release but is definitely planning on releasing the film on DVD.
