A new Cuban restaurant recently opened in Northern Kentucky.
Cuba Cafe, on Madison Avenue in Covington, specializes in Cuban cuisine, pastries and coffee.
Owner Willie Rodriquez, who lives in Villa Hills, says his mother is a wonderful cook and they had tossed around the idea of opening a restaurant for years. His sister, Anna, also helps operate the restaurant.
Menu items include, black beans, red beans, salads, pastries, flan, cuban coffee and the speciality, the Cuban sandwich. There are family portion and sampler platters available.
The restaurant opened two weeks ago. Right now, hours of operations are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rodriquez says if business is good, he'll consider adding evening hours.
