UNION, Kentucky -- Some Boone County students took a trip back in time last week and spent time as Pilgrims.
Mrs. Cindy Lingenfelter's second grade class at New Haven Elementary in Union presented "The Mayflower." The play focuses on a young boy, Sam, who finds out from his parents they are about to move. Sam doesn't want to leave his home until he goes to sleep and dreams he is on the Mayflower making a trans-Atlantic trip in 1620.
When Sam wakes up from his dream, he changes his mind about the family move.
The play starred Cade Gallenstein as Sam, Joshua Phillips as Dad and Shelby Wohlwender as Mom.
Also featured in the play were James Thole, Blake Moore, Justin Huff, Sophia Forlenza, Andrea Turner, Mia Smith, Samantha Moore, Kerry O'Connell, Audrey Wilson, Riana Mulligan, Carson Caudill, Colin Feitl, and Nikolaus Heckel.
Sammi Kay, Holly Gluck, Allison Jessup and Collane Robinson were featured as Pilgrims.
Donna Hamilton served as sign language teacher. Shelby Wohlwender also served as assistant stage manager.
