Two men face drug charges after officers discovered a suspected meth lab at a Dry Ridge home while responding to a call about a possible burglary, the Kentucky State Police announced Wednesday.
Police arrested James C. Willen, 28 of Williamstown and Lanny D. Slaughter, 33 of Dry Ridge with possession of a controlled substance in the 1st degree and manufacturing methamphetamine charges, class D and B felonies.
Kentucky State Police and Williamstown police initially responded to a burglary in progress complaint on Saturday at 19 Easy St. in Dry Ridge. Upon arrival, officers noticed a distinct smell that indicated the presence of a methamphetamine lab.
During the course of investigation officers found pre-cursors, an active meth lab and finished manufacted methamphetamine.
Both men were arrested at the scene and jailed in the Grant County Detention Center. They face a possible 20-25 year jail sentence if convicted.
