The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 would like the public to be aware of the following conditions and/or operations that are being reported for highways in District Six.
Motorists should be aware of possible delays or lane closures on the following projects:
District wide Striping Operations – District wide striping operations will continue nights in Kenton County. The contractor will be placing traffic paint on various roads throughout the counties. Expect minor delays on roads where work is being done due to mobile striping operations. Be aware of wet traffic paint on roadway.
BOONE COUNTY
· I-71 NB to I-75/71 NB - The left lane of the NB I-71 on ramp to NB I-75 will be closed until needed repairs are made. Delays are possible.
· Ashby Fork Road (CR 1329) – Ashby Fork Road is opened to through traffic.
· Industrial Road (KY 1829) – As construction continues on this project, please watch for work crews on Industrial Road (KY 1829) from U.S. 42 to Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) and on Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) from New Buffington Road to the railroad crossing south of the Industrial Road/U.S. 25 intersection. Watch for flaggers and be aware of trucks entering and exiting the highway. The speed limit is reduced to 35 mph on this project.
· North Bend Road (KY 237) from I-275 to Kara Lane – As construction continues on this project, please watch for work crews along North Bend Road (KY 237). Watch for flaggers and be aware of trucks entering and exiting the highway. Traffic may be periodically stopped through this area to allow equipment to pass. Motorists are advised the speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through this area. Expect delays particularly during rush hour periods.
CAMPBELL COUNTY
· KY 2238 Three Mile Creek Road – Three Mile Creek Road (KY 2238) is closed between Johns Hill Road (KY 2345) and Gibson Lane. The road will be closed until the project is completed. A detour is marked, utilizing Johns Hill Road (KY 2345). Watch for construction traffic and trucks entering and leaving the roadway.
GALLATIN COUNTY
Monday, Aug. 17–21:
Crews will continue the slide repair on KY 1130 (Craigs Creek Road). The road will be closed to traffic from the Scenic View sub-division to the KY 35 junction (4.4 – 4.7 mile marker). Traffic will be detoured to KY 35 to Speedway Blvd. to KY 1130. Detour is posted.
· KY 1130 is currently closed near the intersection with U.S. 127 for slope stability repairs. The closure will last until Aug. 21 and a detour will be marked.
GRANT COUNTY
· I-75 at MP 143-152 Northbound & Southbound – Traffic has been shifted to the other side of the existing temporary barrier wall. Southbound traffic will be crossing over to the northbound side of I-75 at approximately MP 152 and traveling on that side until approximately MP 145 where they will cross back to the southbound side of the interstate. This pattern will remain until further notice with a temporary barrier wall separating two lanes of traffic in both directions. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in the work zone. Be aware of trucks entering and leaving the project area.
Monday, Aug. 17-21
Crews will be patching and repairing sections of roadway on KY 467 (Warsaw Road) from the Gallatin County line to KY 22 (0 - 12 mile marker). Watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures.
HARRISON COUNTY
· CR 1223 Twin Creek Road – Twin Creek Road will be closed to through traffic one mile southwest of the junction with KY 356 beginning the week of June 8, due to bridge replacement over Twin Creek. Look for signs for the closure. The road will be closed for approximately 4 months.
KENTON COUNTY
I-75 Northbound and Southbound at MP 190 - Traffic will be periodically stopped by rolling roadblocks on northbound and southbound I-75 at MP 190 on Aug. 16, from 7-9 a.m. Expect minor delays.
· I-75 at MP 183-190 – Various lane closures on I-75 NB and SB can be expected during overnight hours. The lane closures may be encountered between mile points 183–190.
OWEN COUNTY
· KY 22 - Gratz Bridge (approximately at the 6 mile marker) – The Gratz Bridge replacement project has begun. Clearing and grubbing is the only operation taking place this week. Blasting may begin next week with hauling blasted material beginning soon after. Traffic is allowed during daylight hours but is not allowed from 6:30-8:30 a.m. and from 3-5:30 p.m. There will be some one way traffic during these operations.
ROBERTSON COUNTY
· Piqua Road (KY 617) – Piqua Road (KY 617) will be closed to through traffic. The road will be closed approximately one week due to a culvert replacement project .4 miles west of KY 165. The detour is U.S. 62 to Mt. Olivet, then out KY 165. It will be closed for three to four weeks.
