Road Work To Start Monday

Several Northern Kentucky counties will be undergoing maintence services beginning Monday, July 6.

Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Gallatin and Grant counties are scheduled to patch up potholes on various state routes throughout each county. In Boone County, crews will be ditching with equipment on Kentucky state route 3168 or Limaburg Road Tuesday, July 7. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 Superintendent Jason Braun encourages people to watch for traffic contol, equipment and lane closures.

The left lane of the northbound interstate 71 on ramp to northbound interstate 75 will be closed until needed repairs are complete. Delays are possible. County Road 1329 or Ashby Fork Road is closed to through traffic for bridge construction approximately three quarters of a mile south of the intersection with Petersburg Road or state route 20. Traffic will be detoured along Petersburg and Woolper roads. Ashby Fork Road is scheduled to reopen by Aug. 10.

Construction is also planned for Industrial Road or state route 1829 and North Bend Road or state route 237. Motorists are advised the speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph on both roads and to expect delays during rush hour periods.

In Kenton County, crews will be removing trees and brush from Kentucky state route 16 or Taylor Mill Road just before Bowman Road to Kentucky state route 2047 between Monday, July 6 and Friday, July 10. Drivers are cautioned to watch for flaggers, equipment and lane closures. Buttermilk Pike's construction zone will be altered Tuesday, July 7 and will consist of one through lane in both north and south bound traffic. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.

Campbell County crews will be working on removing trees and brush on various state routes as well throughout the county. Furthermore, crews will be ditching on various state routes throughout the county as well. Grant County crews will be working on Kentucky state route 467 or Warsaw Road from Gallatin County line to state route 22 between Monday, July 6 and Friday, July 10.

Three Mile Creek Road or state route 2238 is closed between Johns Hill Road and Gibson Lane. The schedule to reopen the road remains indefinite. Work will begin on state route 709 between U.S. route 27 and AA highway and state route 547 between state route eight and state route 1997.

In Gallatin County, crews will continue repairing pavement failures on state route 35 or Sparta Road from the railroad tracks toward interstate 71. U.S. route 127 at mile point 3.929 between interstate 71 and U.S. route 42 will be limited to one lane of traffice controlled by traffic signals. All vehicles more than 9 ft. in width must use an alternate route. Crews are working to widen an existing bridge at that location.

In Grant County, crews will close Helton road or state route 3025 July 27 in Williamstown and at Cherry Hill Lane for approximately two weeks for bridge repair.

Maintenance activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

Motorists are urged to use caution in work areas, and to be alert for flaggers workers equipment, which may black a portion of the roadway, and other items of concern in work zone speed limits where applicable.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 maintains 2,436 lane miles in Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Gallatin and Grant counties.
