NEWPORT, Ky. – Red Kettle Kick-off Event for The Salvation Army in Northern Kentucky event will be held Nov. 17, at Newport on the Levee, beginning at 11 a.m.

A key fundraising activity of The Salvation Army, which has been in place for more than 100 years, is the annual Red Kettle campaign.

The iconic red kettles with their bell-ringers are a part of Christmas tradition in America.  They serve an important function as a means to raise funds that support the mission of The Salvation Army, as it serves the needs of our neighbors in need at Christmas and throughout the year.

Each year, The Salvation Army kicks off its Red Kettle Campaign with special events to increase public awareness of this mission-critical function.  The Northern Kentucky Community Centers of The Salvation Army, which includes centers in Covington and Newport, will kick off their Red Kettle campaigns with the aid of The Salvation Army Brass Band and local staff.

WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 17, starting at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Newport on the Levee – in front of the AMC Theater ticket booth
