Good morning -

If you've been anywhere near Google over the last week, you know that Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th anniversary today.

I loved Sesame Street growing up, and I'm happy to admit that I still do.

Just yesterday, we fired up a couple of episodes On Demand and I found that they are just as relevant now as they were when they originally aired.  Though it was a little freaky seeing the 1990s opening sequence that shows the World Trade Center towers in the background.

There were my two girls: two bottoms on the couch, two mouths silenced, four eyes fixated, two brains engaged.  I learned to read by watching Sesame Street, and so did my older daughter.  We learned Spanish, manners, diversity, and that imaginary friends (even Snuffleupagus) are okay.

I remember both Gordons, Mr. Hooper, when Luis and Maria got married - and then when they had Gaby.  I remember Billy Joel singing the ABCs and the first time I ever saw Elmo.  I liked him so much we even named our dog Elmo.

I had this Sesame Street play house that opened up - the one where where Big Bird sat in his little nest, and Bert's bottle cap collection was on the wall.  My mother-in-law kept the one my husband played with, and now it's one of my kids' favorite toys, too.  By the way, it's going for like $200 on eBay right now.

The beauty of Sesame Street is that it never gets old, kinda like Big Bird.  Kids whose parents weren't even alive for the first run of the episodes can watch them now as if they're brand new.

And if that theme song doesn't make you smile, then you've got some pretty big issues.  So if all this is jogging your memory of Oscar and Grover and Cookie and the Amazing Mumford and Guy Smiley, and you think you know your Sesame Street stuff, check out this quiz.

My favorites on Today's GMTS:

-Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!: The Steelers beat the Broncos on Monday Night Football last night, making Sunday's Bengals game at Heinz field a ridiculously big one.  Also, before the game, ESPN got into the throwback spirit by bringing back Brent Musberger, Phyllis George and Irv Cross back to the pregame show.  Let me just say Phyllis George has to be 60 and she's still stunning.

-Wrong Side of the Tracks: This is video that has to be seen to be believed. A woman falls on the train tracks in Boston ... and the train stops just inches from her head. She was that close to the tracks because it was the only place she could smoke.  That's reason #412 not to smoke.
