HAMILTON, Ohio -- We should learn more about the futures for two Butler County pediatricians Thursday, as separate hearings are held concerning charges of having sex with their under-age patients.

It's possible we could find out how long Dr. Mark Blankenburg will be sentenced to prison, when Judge Keith Spaeth holds a hearing on that, as well as what to do about a dozen pornography charges still facing the Hamilton pediatrician.

Blankenburg was convicted of a variety of charges for having sex with several of his under-age male patients over the years, and then giving them money and drugs to keep the illicit relationship quiet.

Judge Spaeth had separated the pornography charges from other counts that he and a jury would consider. Those issues and possible sentencing will be considered at a 3 p.m. hearing at the Butler County Courthouse in Hamilton.

Two hours earlier at 1 p.m., Judge Noah Powers will take up issues concerning the upcoming trial of Blankenburg's twin brother, Dr. Scott Blankenburg, who is a Fairfield pediatrician.

He faces 22 similar charges involving having sex with patients connected with his and his brother's medical practices.

A trial for Dr. Scott Blankenburg is not scheduled to start until next April.
