FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Unemployment rates are up in each of Kentucky's 120 counties.

A report by the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training says the counties' unemployment rates in February ranged from just more than 7 percent to nearly 19 percent.

The lowest countywide unemployment in the state was 7.4 percent in Fayette County, home to the University of Kentucky. Eastern Kentucky's Menifee County had the highest unemployment rate at 18.9 percent.

Kentucky's statewide unemployment rate was 9.2 percent in February, topping 9 percent for the first time in more than two decades. February saw Kentucky's highest unemployment rate since 1986.

Unemployment in Kentucky is worse than the national rate, which was at 8.1 percent in February.
