A WWII veteran is hoping to get back his wedding band after a thief broke into his Ft. Wright home and stole his priceless ring.

Gerry Groneman, 88, came home from dinner on July 4, to find someone had broken through the lock on the front door of his Kyles Lane home.

His bedroom was ransacked, $60 in cash was taken along his class ring from the University of Cincinnati and the wedding band given by his late wife Loretta.

"I'm sure I won't get any money back that's probably already gone. I would be surprised if we got the rings back. I couldn't report anything else because they didn't seem interested in taking anything else," said Groneman.

Ft. Wright Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call or you can call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
