Whitfield, Chandler Win Re-Election

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Republican incumbent Ed Whitfield has defeated Democrat Heather Ryan in the 1st District congressional race, while Democrat Ben Chandler has won another term in the 6th District over GOP challenger Jon Larson.

The 1st District is in western Kentucky, while the 6th District is in and around Lexington. Democrat John Yarmuth easily won re-election in Louisville's 3rd District, while Republican U.S. Reps. Hal Rogers and Geoff Davis also recaptured their respective districts in eastern and Northern Kentucky.

Meanwhile two state senators, Democrat David Boswell and Republican Brett Guthrie have wrapped up their campaigns for Kentucky's 2nd District. They are vying for the seat left open by
Ron Lewis, who is retiring.
