ERLANGER, Ky. – Steinert US (SUS), the leader in separation equipment for the Scrap Metal Market, announced the relocation of its North American headquarters to Northern Kentucky from Clearwater, Fla.

In November, the company will occupy 7,500 square feet of space at 1830 Airport Exchange Blvd., Erlanger, Ky., located in unincorporated Boone County. Steinert US will move its entire parts warehouse and administrative activities to the new location by Nov. 16.

Incorporated in 2003, Steinert US was the 50/50 joint venture of Steinert Metalloxd, Inc (SMI), and Southern Recycling of St. Petersburgh, Fla. As a result of its modern and economical magnetic and sensor sorting equipment, SUS is now the leader in separation equipment for the North American Scrap Metal Market.

Following the Steinert group’s global strategy of offering their separation expertise in recycling, waste treatment, mineral beneficiation and raw material handling, SMI took over an additional 26-percent share of Steinert US at the beginning of 2009.

In May, Steinert charged the new president of SUS, Jason Looman, with increasing SUS’s presence in the waste and mining markets.

"We are aggressively introducing our premiere separation equipment into the Waste, Mining, Minerals and Aggregates markets," said Looman.

"After examining all markets, we realized that our additional customer base and our existing customers were located throughout North America." "Driven by a need to show our commitment to these markets, we decided our headquarters should be centrally located in the US," he said.

After an extensive search, involving possible locations, like Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte, Northern Kentucky, part of Cincinnati MSA was chosen because of its: central location in the U.S., its access to a major airline hub, its diverse workforce, and its location to major universities like UC, Xavier and Northern Kentucky.

"We are pleased that Steinert US, led by Jason Looman, chose Northern Kentucky after a thorough search and look forward to working with this growth company," said Gary Moore, Boone County Judge Executve and Chairman Northern Kentucky Tri-ED, which worked directly with Looman to indentify a location of interest for the company.

"We finalized on the location in Northern Kentucky," said Looman, "because we liked its existing infrastructure, and its commitment to international companies."

With its worldwide headquarters in Cologne, Germany, Steinert joins a long list of international companies headquartered in Northern Kentucky.
