FC Dallas striker Jeff Cunningham claimed the
2009 Golden Boot awarded to Major League Soccer's top goal scorer at the end
of the regular season.
Cunningham scored a career-high 17 goals to pace the league, one ahead of
Colorado Rapids striker Conor Casey. He joins Taylor Twellman, Carlos Ruiz,
Stern John and Roy Lassiter as two-time Golden Boot winners after also winning
the award as a member of Real Salt Lake in 2006.
Cunningham is second all-time on the career goal-scoring list with 121 regular
season goals, just 10 behind D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno.
